first time in hamilton

I had a great time in Hamilton working with Mike Beatty and Wafik Nasralla, both Ottawa guys. They both did their time, and had great sets. I, of course, killed, and sold CD's as a result. Wafik just got married and so had his lovely wife with him. Mike and I hooked up with Matty Billon at the underground. I love that bar, and the way they pour Jack and Cokes. Reese, the bartender, listened to my CD that I gave him and he loved it. Thats what I like about CD's is that people that don't have the time or the desire to go to a comedy show, can still enjoy it, and know that I am a seriously funny motherfucker (Reese's words)

Brett and I confirmed another special show at Fionn MacCool's. They loved our show. And thanks to party promotion girl Brandie Kelly, the CD launch was the second biggest Wednesday EVER for Fionn's (and only out of first by 150 bucks). The After Dark comedy show goes every Monday, and the yet to be named show with Pete, Matty, Brett and myself is Sunday June19, 2005. Speaking of dates, today, June 4, is our pal Brett Martin's 26th birthday. Happy Birthday Buddy. Have fun with the folks. And since my blog now has more readers than SHECKY, I encourage eveyone to wish Brett a happy birthday. Send it to me and I'll pass it on. Also check out the photos of the launch under the comments. I'm headlining Hamilton again tonight. Come on out a see what all the hubbub is about. "At Least There's Drinking" should be in some Toronto and Vancouver record stores this week.

You should not be apologizing for what you did, as blogs are meant for outpouring ... the more you rant, the more entertaining it is and believe me, no one cares.

my new friend skarr, from America, has weighed in on the debate, as in what are blogs for. As far as the "no one cares" part I wish that were true. But the truth is, despite my apologies, and my attempts to make good, certain peoples still have their panties in a knot. Oh well, there is nothing to do but move on. I am assuming that Kenny Robinson will not be inviting me to do a set at his night on the June 26, so we're gonna do another event at Fionn MacCool's. More details later, but it will be my last show in Toronto, (headlining the super club June 22-25) so it'll be a doozy.

Got some new clothes this week, so I'm looking forward to Hamilton with wafik Nasralla and Mike Beatty.

Tom Foolery in the Village

Phoned my daughter this morning, she's three hours behind so she was getting ready for school. I needed to talk to the ex. Not wanting to cause any more trouble by using real names, we will refer to my daughter's mother as Terrible Woman At Times or T.W.A.T. I was calling to see if she could wait a day or two to deposit my post-dated child support check, but the TWAT deposited it early instead. She knows that I'm always trying to get it covered at the last second, so she tries to make it worse. That way she can look down her nose at my pathetic career. I think I was able to get it covered before it bounced, but who knows. Anyway, my daughter got the post card I sent from Windsor, and thought it was really cool. Her Highness Breanna makes everything worth it. Her opinion is the only one I care about.

I went down to The Village to deposit the money and had a starbuck's. The is a school around there somewhere, judging by the amount of kids around. Anyway, three little ten year old boys managed to get on the roof and drop some water on the patrons below. It bounced off the awning and sprayed this woman slightly. Well SHE LOST IT. She called the police and made a big deal out of it. Me and this other guy thought it was pretty funny.(Turns out he was from Saskatchewan.) I mean they're ten year old boys, if they didn't do stuff like that I'd be worried. So the police had to come by. We've got to nip this in the bud. What's next - CRANK PHONE CALLS & KNOCK A DOOR GINGER?!!!

I starting to think this city is seriously in need of a sense of humour. Even the comedians had a rather strict politically correct agenda. Come on Toronto - LIGHTEN UP!! And buy my CD. It's good!!

CD launch

Last night was the best show ever. At Fionn MacCool's, the place was packed with, wait for it, audience members. Not comedians, but John Q Public. This was due to me enlisting Brandie Kelly, my beautiful Irish friend. She got at least 50 people out to the launch. Glen Miller, the owner of Fionn's gave us the chance and it went great. Peter Anthony, (my screenplay writing partner) was the host, and he did an expert job. Brett Martin went up and did a strong 10 minute set, followed by Matty Billon with another ten and then I did 40. The whole show ran about an hour fifteen, and we left the audience wanting MORE. I was very proud of my crew, doing as I asked, I implored them to keep it funny and tight. Toby and Mister showed up, but most of the comedianes were elsewhere, which explains why there was still room on the bar tab after the show. We piled into a cab, and headed to Spirits, for Joanna's anniversary show. Anyway, the CD is launched, and I have the day off. I have to try to get money in my account to pay child support, and let the sun shine. Friday and Saturday I'm in Hamilton.
