Fans fo the CD

D. Anderson, old pal from Edmonton at the Comedy Fest party. I gifted him a CD.

Zach Galifinackis and his beard Sheila

Hanging with some crazies at the comedy fest last night.

Flight of the ConChords

Brett and Jemaine came down to the Cotton Club to close off the night. Very funny Kiwi songsters and kewl guys.

David Tsonas

Dave is one of my favourite guys to work with, because, as I said last night when I introduced him, he's not a total PRICK!!

Smile, you're on blog camera.

Damonde and Lachlin

Damonde, back from a stint in the center of the universe, showing his affection for my wife, and Lachlin, showing his lack of affection for the food.

Bobby

Comedy Fest Volunteer, and aspiring comic Bobby.

Blue

Blue aka Greg Kettner produced the show at Doolin's.

me and the squish meister

I look like a skater, but Leanne's looking goooood, even with the lazy eye...

Dan

Danny Quinn, headlines the show at Doolin's.

Toby

One of the largest heads in the biz, Toby Hargreaves killed as usual. The fear is his eyes is that he heard he might have to follow me! (that was a joke)

Dylan

Dylan Reimer, who I met when he was in High school, he took my stand-up class at the POCO LOCO (vancouver's first open mic) and now his almost thirty!! Sweet guy and FUNNY!!

Rachel

Rachel DesLaurier, doing her thing. She also does a bang up impression of me, probably the best female "Richard Lett" impression going.

Dan Quinn, who lives in LA and Irwin Barker, working out of Halifax for this hour has 22 minutes, are in town for the festival.

Paul Breau

Paul is now hosting his own radio show on Thursday's at eleven. I will be on next week.

vancouver comedy fest

Well, Toby won the two grand for the competition. Way to go Tobster!! Meanwhile, hung out with Paul Myerhaug (we're both from Camrose Alberta), and a whole slew of folks from yuks and such at "Characters" last night. I, like a lot of locals, am not in the comedy fest this year. Jay Leno got my spot. Stage Hog. (Oops, hopefully the elf king and the D word don't copy this and email it to Jay's people, like they like to.)
Meanwhile, I am working on a new play with the Bjorkman, a screenplay of the Clutch, and directing "The Happy Prince" for my church.

A colleague reviews me

From the first time I've seen you, it's been sort of like watching a particularly harrowing street race. You fire out these wonderful, witty lines, the timing of a, well, a skilled comic, then you tip over the line of edgy to offensive, then pull yourself up, say something really insightful and humble (and fuckin' funny), and I'm back on with you again. I love Alfred's appearances throughout your set, I love the hamster stories...You have a way about you, in your act that is at once enraged and horrified, and tender, vulnerable and optimistic. I hope that doesn't threaten your masculinity, there, Richard, those last adjectives there.
Thanks for this, Richard. It's really been a great pleasure to see your work, and to get to know you a little bit over this last while.

all the best,
Erin Graham
