radio marathon fundraising!!

Hey Richard,

Good news, we raised $5200 for the hospital!! 52 hundrend dollars!! The
baby scale cost $5000(and that was the goal for the whole day)...anyway,
thank you for the time... really Richard, it was a great thing you were a
part of(and I'll get you the tape soon). I hope you get some decent hits
from the spot you did... I ran it in the morning just before the 6:30
news... I KNOW people heard it, cuz a few people had a reaction to you...
no sh!t, and I've found if people make mention it to you, many more
enjoyed it and didn't say a word... I hope, again it turns into a few hits
and even some cash for you.

I know the time I offered you has a great value(I'm on tripple A time when
I aired you!-the most a client would pay for advertising-)... and I know
it worked well for me; I sincerely hope it helps you too with the website
and cd drop.

I was a stubborn, motivated kid in school when we met and you helped me
out(don't think I'll forget that). Now years later I've got some
commercial value I wanted to offer back to you, while still helping a
hospital! Keep in touch Richard, I'm still that stubborn kid inside, and
in a few years it'll be a MAJOR market station I'll be able to offer you
airtime on! Instead of a few thousand ears like this time, I want to
offer you sometime (for my career and yours!) hundreds of thousands of
ears...

Thanks, on behalf of the hospital that got the scale(that will keep babies
and moms happy, awww)... 52 hundred bucks is a good chunk of change if
nothing else... I know a good feeling doesn't buy groceries... but I was
volunteering hours and hours of my time too. I also hope your daughter is
doing well...

Cheers Richard,
Brent Peachey

The boys in Cowtown

This place is like a half-way house for comedians. Everyday or so, a new group of comics shows up. Tonight Kevin Foxx arrived, starting his tour, same one I'm halfway through. I did something unusual tonight. I phoned Breanna during my set and got the audience to sing happy birthday to her. She thought it was pretty cool. Tommorow, Ben Miner and I head off to Sun Peaks, and then Cranbrook. If you are in the area, come out to the show.

Happy Birthday Bree

Today is my daughter Breanna's 11th birthday. It kills me to be away on the road during this time, but touring inevitably makes you miss something. Anyway, today is a very special day for her and myself. 11 years ago I became a father, and my life began. I love ya Bree - Happy Birthday.

WestEnder's People's Choice AWARDS

Hey, looks like I have fans in Vancouver. The WestEnder newspaper announced that I was one of the top three comics in Vancouver. My old nemesis Brent Butt was named as well as a couple of Improv guys. So, although I put little stock in it, it's nice to get anyway.

paul myerhaug leaving for TO

Last night at the Blackfoot in Calgary, after the super bowl, there was a makeshift bon vonyage party for Paul Myerhaug, who is leaving for Toronto, to ply his comedy trade out there. It should be a great move for Paul, he's a funny guy, who comes from Camrose, and so the comedy lineage is obvious. I suspect he will be very successful out there.

Anyway, the party was hosted by Paul and the Awkward Cowboy - Sean McComber, and in attendance was Ben Miner(whose going on tour with me on Thursday), Johhny Guardhouse, Kerry Unger and myself. It was cool to have just pro comics in the room. Nobody bothered to perform.
When the pizza arrived, I went for the hawaiian, which was good because the pepperoni was so hot to was almost inedible. Paul recalled at that point "they did say "SPICY pepperoni." Sean and Paul had to prove themselves by eating a couple of pieces, then they looked like they were having allergic reactions for about 15 minutes.

I left my jacket in Paul and Sean and learned a lesson about trusting those guys with my stuff. And now I have a serious addiction to Coffee Mate.
