Friday shows

Had a liquid lunch with K. Foxx today at Malones. We talked about knowing when to turn back, so I did, by going home, eating and napping before the show. Glad I got the rest, it paid off tonight. But it was a nice eye opener on a sunny afternoon in the greatest city in the world.

Both big audiences tonight at yukyuks, unloaded a dozen CD's and pretty much rocked the place. Damonde's hosting and so he had them going, and Larry, well, Larry's still Larry. So, what can you do? It certainly left me room to work, as I've sorta been counted on to carry some time. 50 minutes is unusual, but Mike knows I have it so he got me to do it last night and tonight. So this week is being pretty powerful. First show, I got a applause break for "Call me Dick" - five minutes in! So they were lit up from the get go. Three guys rushed towards me to buy CD's as soon as the show ended. Lots of good vibes and new fans.

I have an audition for a movie on Tuesday, good part. So hopefully, I can put together some gigs in the film world here.

Day off before six shows and TV

Interview on the Urban Rush.

I did an interview with Fiona Forbes on Urban Rush on Shaw TV. I managed to keep it funny, telling my story about killing my hamster and working with Michael Buble. The show runs about five times in the next day. Meanwhile I have the night off then I do comedy all week, headlining YukYuks till Saturday, then I do a show at the Media club with the young whippersnappers, my nickname for the gang of young men who have been doing shows there. They have become regular attenders of the Crash and Burn show on Tuesdays, and the hangover I had this morning is a result of that.

Comedy seems to showing some growth in Vancouver, with all sorts of guys coming out of the wordwork. As I've always said, "I love it when new people get into comedy, because thats one more person that I'm better than."

Review from America

I was at the April 20 Comedy show at Jack-Sons Comedy Nite-Club in Yakima, and SAW and HEARD the most amazing comic Richard Lett. I have been to a couple comedy shows before, while on vacation in Reno, and Arizona...But I have never seen a TRUE pro like Richard, he had me and my friends in tears we were laughing so hard! One lady was laughing so hard, Richard had to stop the show so she could catch her breath! I cant wait to see him again! THat whole story of his daughters pet hamster and taking it to the Vet is priceless!!! I picked up his CD and he even graciously autographed it for me! I cannot recommend any higher praise than to say, I have seen Robin Williams on HBO, I have seen George Carlin and Richard Pryor on TV...but I have truly witnessed Brilliance in Richard Lett!!! C.
