Me

toby

Toby Hargrave is emceeing this week. Toby is another guy who did a first with me. In this case it was the island for Stu, years ago. Toby was a finalist in the Comic Genius and winner of last years competition at the Vancouver festival. Another comic worth the price of admission. I'm telling you, the value of this show is way up. And if you tell them you're on my guest list just cause you read my blog - it'll be free.

Erica Sigurdson

Doing the middle spot this weekend is Erica. She's really a great comedian. We've worked together for years. I think I took her on her first yuks tour years ago. Looking for gas in Blackie Alberta proved to be a defining moment. Anyway erica is worth the price of admission herself, she's making the show this week top notch. The longshot is off the monitor tv backstage.

IVAN Decker

Ivan Decker, backstage doing guest spots on the weekend. Not sure if he's been to this level before (first step off amateur night is guest spots on the weekend) but he's rocking it out. I tease him about be nine years old, but he really has some great jokes, and he's likeable which is an real asset (and one that I lack). This picture is the greenroom at the yuks downtown. Sorry about the typo on this first posting. Simon Decker is a comic that I know too, But that's NOT HIM! Sorry to both you guys!

Not LETTing up

Well, the shows this week are going well. I'll take my camara down tonight and get a few pics for you. Meanwhile, the website is still seeing alot of action. Down from day one of 1400, it is still getting over 500 a day since the Us article. So this virus was no 24 hour flu.

I have not been giving the level of show i expect from myself this week, so I'm going over notes today. new stuff, stuff I forgot. shit i did that i didn't plan on. (sometimes you get seduced into doing established material. i prefer to choose things for that night and if it works better in the winter, or whatever, i don't wanna do it when I have other more appropriate stuff.) Besides, i can't let up. With the high level of comics they are putting on the show in front of me (Sam Easton, Toby Hargrave, Rob Pue) - gotta make sure i don't slide!!

Anyway, i'm expecting some friends out tonight, and so new fans, so it should be fun. If anyone gets by the club, just say you're with richard and get in FREE!

Us weekly

What a week.

Monday: Started with my altinator blowing in my car on the way to the airport. Then I had an audition the next morning with Corinne Mayrs at Lions Gate Studios. And I mean morning. 9:55 am was my audition time. A small part on a show called Supernatural. I hadn't seen it, but some of the people at show at Darby's had. So realizing it was an important audition, I did a set at Darby's and drank Jack. My niece Tara lent me her car to get out to North Van for the audition. And she dropped in at the end of the night. My niece is very good looking (she's a BC Lion's Cheerleader a-Felion, and singer/songwriter) and so she hung out while I introduced her to all the drooling comedians at Darby's. The show was hot, as pretty much the best comics in town showed up, and Damonde put 'em all up. I had to follow bueler, who always throws hard, so I needed to pull my game together to fit in between him and Rob Pue. I drove Tara home, and then I went to checkers. Alyson Smith wowed them at kareoke with her comic turn on Audrey Hepburn, and I drove my niece's Miata home. My Honda with the dead altinator had been rescued by Barry Greenfeld, and been returned to my parking garage. So I had to park tara's car by the dumpster with a note. Next morning, I drove out to Lion's Gate for the audition. I had a baggy pair of overalls from the C-Man, and an orange down vest. The part was a hunter, with only one line, so I went in, nailed the line, gave 'em a good face, and went back to Kits.

A few hours later, one of my agents Anna, phoned to tell me I was first choice for Hearst, the hunter, and she'd let me know tomorrow. I was, as they say, "on hold".
I hung out with my pal Jeff leyland, and watched Mark wahlberg's series "Entourage" which is very cool and funny. Hung out at the Well until Tara called for her car, and I hooked the Miata back with her. Paula Attell told me I was quoted in Us magazine, and she had seen it. It didn't really register with me, until the next day when I checked my new website. Usually I get 20 or 30 unique visits a day. Today I had 1380. teh my agent called. They booked me for the role, so I get to be on this new series "Supernatural". Craft services HERE I COME!!

Tonight I headlined the club (YukYuks) . It was a great show for everybody, and I managed to top it at the end. I sold a couple Cd's and walked back to Kits. Still waiting for the altinator. At the Well, my old pal Josh was there Bartending, and his two brothers were hanging out. I had to get a picture of them for the BloG. So pictured above (left to right) are Zach, Josh and Sam Bligh. ARRRRGH! I'm headlining Yuks all week. Come and watch!!

New website is FINALLY UP!!!

After months of working at it with my geek Paul Frank of Cybernettic, we have finally gone online with the new website. I believe it is a vast improvement, but time will tell. But now, you can buy "merch" online, and watch some video of some live shows, some TV and radio interviews, read a play or listen to one of my stories, join a discussion forum, book me, or become a fan. The address is the same, but the site is different, so check it out at www.richardlett.com
