Success at theMain Street Slam

Went down to the Cottage Bistro last night where Sean McGarrigle anf Trevor Spilchen run a slam. I ended up making it to the finals by knocking off some very established Slam Poets including perrenial champ Patrick Swan. Besides his death threats to me, and him openly sobbing after his elimination, P-Swan was a good sport. It was close, but the great RC Weslowski won the night, with me taking 50 bucks as runner-up. My young friend Katie was with me (I know I know) so we all went to the Brickyard. I shoulda driven her home, but she was fine taking the bus, which I waited with her for, because those poets like to hang out in rough neighbourhoods.

Decided to give Rogue a ride to New West, cause I'm a good guy, but got pulled over by thie cops. Turns out my license expired on my birthday, so I got a $130 ticket, and then he let me go. He coulda towed the car and stranded me, but he didn't. I got my license renewed today, and realised that that was lucky to get caught then as opposed to other times when I might be less clear of other offences.

Am doing my best to believe the universe will provide me with some income. I will soon land a TV or voice gig that will make a difference, but meanwhile, Duncan at Vancity is covering me. So for now I'm safe.

Headlining tonight at yuks, and hosting the rest of the week. All that money needs to go into my account, so hopefully some CD or DVD sales will help me plug on.
