hearing test

after every round of chemo I have to have my hearing tested , cause one of the chemo cisplaten, is audio toxic (which means that it can permanently fuck up your hearing.)
Yesterday, dragged my butt to the clinic. So far my hearing hasn't changed, and the ear doc said I have very good hearing. To which I said "Pardon?". They hate that joke. Today I feel bad. Picture is of Duff, whose been driving me to chemo. This blog is what i have manged to do today. And I'm done

Reason to Blog

Richard,

Hey...been a fan of yours since I saw you perform a few years ago at Yuk Yuks in Vancouver. Loved your act and still spin your CD here and there for a good laugh. Kept up with your blog once in a while just to see if I could catch you again somewhere in Vancouver.

Anyways, I now see that you are in for the fight against the Cancer. I now follow your blog as much as I can. My dad was diagnosed about 2 months ago with Colon Cancer and has had the surgery etc... and begins Chemo/Radiation in a month or so. I gave him the information on your blog as well and we both follow it to see your perspective on your fight with Cancer. It is very refreshing to see your outlook and I know it has rubbed off on my dad who takes things lightly just as you do. For this I thank you!!

In the face of such a terrible disease I can say first hand that your take and outlook is refreshing and helping at least one other family that's going through the same thing.

Here's to a full and speedy recovery for yourself and I look forward to seeing your act again sometime soon.

Regards,

Tim Folster

i remember this...

So as predicted, the delay effects of the kemo are hitting. thought i could attribute it to depletion of various forms of blood, but the doc assures me that "Nah, thats just the kemo." He said "you realize what we're pouring into you is poison... So it's gonna affect you without much notice". So I tried to get out nine times today. Everytime I thought I had the energy, i would put on a sock, have to rest. finally phoned Kerem who picked me up, took me grocery shopping and down to starbucks, got a movie and I'm home again. Had half a dozen people come by on friday. yesterday Brett came over and watched the hockey game, then my cousin Marc came by. Okay, thats all I got for energy now. Getting lots of love sent me, from friends, which actually helps a LOT! Thanks
