Vic's NEW HAT

My buddy and playwright colleague - Vic Albert came over to the hotel to lay the first darft of his new play on me. Vic has a brillaint comedy mind, and his hat which reads - got gimp - is part of that. Vic has Cerebral Palsy, which is always a good reason to make fun. Check the review of the last project we did together, "Jumpin Jack" is on my website.

My Dad and My Nephew.

I have had the chance to visit some of my family this tour, including these other two Lett males. The original, my father Glen, and the spin-off Reed. Reed is going to college in Camrose, and so he came over for dinner and a game of scrabble, which my father won - again. How that guy manages to lay down x's and z's and q's - and always on a triple word score - is astounding. I suspect he is cheating, but have no evidence of that, so I guess he will continue to get away with it.

Forty below in The Chuk

Edmonton is so cold that the birds hang out on the chimneys to keep warm. This is the view from the 16th floor of The Coast Plaza that I'm staying at. It is a very posh hotel, so staying indoors isn't to tough. I went to university in Edmonton for four years - and this is where I started doing stand-up. Twenty years ago. Shit, seems like a long time. Shouldn't I be more famous! or Rich? Wait - I am rich. Rich Lett. Could be worse.

The Road

Travelling around is part of the job of a Canadian Stand UP Comic. This is good and bad, but at the end of the day, we get to see a lot of our country.

Craig and Jane

Craig Campbell and his fmaily (wife Jane and her two sons) were in Calgary. Craig and I have been friends for a long time. He now lives and works in the UK, where there is tons more work, and better pay. Anyway, we had a good time playing "Killer" in the pub, before I had to leave. It was great to see the Craigster in all his hairiness!!

Ben Miner on the Cranbrook Run

After being fed 150 proof Everclear at Sun Peaks - Ben needs a little break on the road the next day. Between that, and injuring his hand somehow, Ben should have his own road stories to add to the collection he is compiling for XM Radio.
