tonight at the well

well, well, well, after almost six years, (if one excludes the showcase p-love put me on a couple years ago) I returned to perform at the urban well. i would be lying to say it didn't feel good, and so, as a celebration of satan's birthday, i took the bullet. went good (I was gonna say well, but the pun is growing thin, and outwiehged grammer).
Then i hung out.

k.foxx told me of how the stolen bicycle story ended, and it would be unfair to my loyal readers, to not tell it. as you may remember, kfoxx bought a stolen bike from a junkie, determined to return it to its rightful owner. so...
the next day he phones the police back. k.foxx tells the woan cop on the phone how he bought a stolen bike for 15 bucks, and would like to return it to its rightful owner. the woman advised him that he was admitting to buying stolen goods, but undaunted, he reassured her that he was merely trying to return it. she advised him to say nothing else (as all these conversations are recorded) and gave him a line for a community police station. kfoxx didn't get an answer there so he took the bike around to a local station to return it. so he peddled his stolen goods around trying to find a station that was open.

unfortunately, he found one.

he explained to the cop what had happened, and how he wanted to return the bike, and all he needed was his fifteen dollars back. the cop pointed out that he had just admitted to buying stolen goods (a felony - i believe)and was now trying to extort money for it. the cop suggested that the real story was that kfoxx had stolen the bike himself, and was feeling bad about it, and now was trying to sell it to them. realizing (FINALLY) that he was in trouble, kfoxx told the cop that if wanted to arrest him, do it, but he's leaving the bike and going.

later, a different cop phoned him, and left a number. kfoxx phoned it, but there was no answer. who knows how long this would have gone, except kfoxx's dad was visiting, heard the story, and somehow convinced him that a "Citizen of the Year" award was unlikely, and DO Not phone the cop again. the bike will be available for auction some time soon. i miss my dad for such solid support.

i hung out for a bit, Stacey (barkeep)and Trevor(manager) both said i had a great set and were glad to see me back. then I "played the dozens" with john bueler, and won, as usual, and came home. tommorrow, i have photos and stories from the film shoot today.
